What They Wore... Cannes Film Festival 2011

Cannes annual Film Festival never fails to supply celebrity after celebrity in gorgeous designer gowns. This year, on it's 64th anniversary, was certainly no exception. Take a look at some of the stars who attended this year and who they were wearing.

Rachel McAdams

The always-pretty Rachel wore a Maxine Simoens S/S '11 Couture dress which features camellia flowers on the shoulders and pockets. The clean, white colour of the dress really complimented Rachel's skin tone and hair - she was glowing! Not to mention white is one of THE colours for this Summer.

Angelina Jolie

In head-to-toe Salvatore Ferragamo, Angelina looked beautifully feminine in a belted dress and matching shoes. What is so wonderful about this look is that, whilst the dress in itself is quite simple, Angelina brings it to life with her tumbling waves and perfect skin. It's refreshing to see Angelina in a less sexy outfit, and she carries it off elegantly.

Uma Thurman
Uma Thurman wowed the crowds in Cannes when she arrived for evening ceremony in this strapless white gown from Versace's A/W '11 catwalk. Accessories with nothing but a simple up 'do and some bright emerald earrings, Uma, who was also a jury member for the festival, was the belle of the ball.

Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek stepped up the glamour as she arrived in this silk georgette gown by Gucci Premiere. It was no surprise that Ms Hayek chose Gucci as, afterall, her hubby is the PPR Gucci Group's CEO. But there's no denying she looked stunning and every inch the movie star. With an embroidered bustier featuring sequin and crystal detailing and a long pleated skirt, Salma's dress ticked every box when it came to achieving the perfect Cannes ensemble.

Karolina Kurkova
Karolina Kurkova looked enchanting in a midnight blue Giorgio Armani Prive mermaid dress on the red carpet. The model looked gorgeous, opting for black accessories to offset the blue, and wearing her hair in a curly half-up half-down ensemble.

Ines de la Fressange
Ines de la Fressange's outfit stood out for being an unconventional Cannes ensemble. Sunglasses and flip flops are hard to find on a red carpet anywhere, but Ines carried it off with her cool but kooky style. In a grecian one-shoulder dress by Carven, Ines showed off her enviable figure and looked relaxed and chic.
